Tips and Advice from a seasoned Medical Transcriptionist

About me

I have been an MT for 10+ years. I’ve worked for several different companies, local and national. I’ve been an independent contractor and an employee. I’ve also researched extensive information on starting up my own transcription company, although I’ll admit I have never had the guts to try to launch one by myself. I have a lot of knowledge and I love to write, so what better medium than blogging?

I love to teach, probably the reason I homeschool, and I enjoy sharing my “A-ha!” moments with others who could use some “A-ha!” moments themselves.

I wanted to let folks know how I got started in my career as a medical transcriptionist, my experiences – good and bad, and help people decide whether or not this would be a good career path to choose for themselves.

I also want to help “newbies” get a feel for utilizing their greatest asset, the internet, to create accurate, quality documents while increasing production to make more money — which is, of course, the whole reason we’re MTs to begin with!

So, put yer headphones on and let’s get crackin’!
